RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SWIM MEETS

ARTICLE I-                     CONDUCT OF MEETS

Section 1:  All meets will offer a full complement of events (Order of Events).  The Championship meet will offer a full complement of events with a possible change of event order to accommodate time constraints.  For a Dual or Tri meet, any change from the recommended list is optional upon mutual consent of al teams involved and upon receipt of a weeks notice to all teams involved.

Section 2:  Swimmers may enter no more than three (3) individual events and tow (2) relay events.

Section 3:  A minimum number of qualified officials must be present at each official meet.  These include, Referee, Starter, Stroke and Turn Judge, and Timers and/or as agreed upon by the teams involved.  Officials shall be governed by the swimming rules established by USS.

Section 4:  The first heat of each event will be the scoring heat.  Additional heats may be run by mutual consent of coaches and/or club officials. All additional heats and exhibition swims are official swims and must be recorded in the event order in which they were swum.  All exhibition swims must be clearly marked in the upper right hand section of the seed card prior to the event.  If heats are combined at a meet and this combination allows for one team to have more swimmers in that heat than would originally been present, only the original swimmers of the heat may score.

Section 5:  Unofficial entries in a meet may be swum by the mutual consent of the teams involved.  An unofficial entry will be defined as an entry which does not comply with entry guidelines for meets, i.e., a relay team comprised of coaches and swimmers, several age groups, or both sexes.

Section 6:  No dual or tri-meet should exceed four hours in duration, unless agreed upon by mutual consent of the team involved.

Section 7: LEGIBLE meet results of all heats and official time trials will be given to visiting teams.  Copies of results will be made available for use at NHSA championships.
